When I first started my coaching business, I was told that my fees were “too expensive” for someone new to the profession, so I scaled back out of fear and spent several months giving my services away for free (or for very little), all while spending every evening affirming my ideal fees.
While this strategy worked in some ways (people will always jump at free or low-cost offers), I inevitably found myself frustrated by coaching people who didn’t value what I did or who weren’t fully invested in their dreams. This caused a lot of resentment and almost cost me my genuine desire to serve others, nearly stripping away my dreams and purpose.
I started using the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) and began to dig deeper into my limited money beliefs because somewhere inside, I knew I was good at what I did and that I deserved to be paid well for it. This challenging work led me to discover an empowering way to state my fees and charge by value—not what people thought an hour of time might be worth (there’s a big difference!)
This approach, paired with my new money mindset and beliefs, elevated my self-worth and confidence levels, allowing me to shamelessly charge more and stop settling for less.
